An African Farm

I just thought walking on rocks through the lilly pads was so fun!
This is a fig tree. It was amazing. Who needs McDonalds playland when you can have this!
My roommate Jess and I with Paul in the background. Paul and I teach 6th grade together.
Brenton trying to decide what the best method is for balancing on the limb and walking out the end. I didn't stick around and wait for his decision. Sorry Brenton!
A view of the Rift Valley.
Rift Valley.
One of the huts for a farm hand.
Us girls hanging out at the lilly pads.

So we went to this guys farm in the Rift Valley. A short history lesson on the Rift Valley. This massive valley runs through several countries, but runs through the entire country of Kenya North to South. This valley has a lot of neat features like lakes, different mountains including Mount Kenya. This valley will lead you south to the Massai Mara. Which is a land of lots of animals and beautiful African sunsets. If you have ever seen the movie Out of Africa (I highly recommend it) you will see most of these things. Here are some pictures of the valley and our friends farm which was so amazingly beautiful. They have cheetahs that come up to the house sometimes. There are monkeys all in the trees and the landscaping that includes crystal clear water and small little waterfalls is absolutely amazing!!
